“…So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.”

This week, I’m sharing words that Lindsay wrote earlier this week, because it’s impossible for me to say it any better myself.
This is a call for us all to see and love the bold, beautiful colors in each and every human.

Growing up, I was taught that an LGBTQ+ individual was an outcast, lost, and to be avoided. All of that, “in the name of Jesus.” Total lies and exactly the opposite of what he taught.
What happened at Club Q, just six miles from my house, is inexcusable. And, as my friend Ryan put it best, “I grieve the ongoing existence of bigotry and small thinking; specifically I grieve that churches and christians are the ones who seem to nurture its existence.”
I am committed to raising my son to not be a bigot or a small thinker. Rather, to be a creative, inclusive, empathetic, and loving person. I fight against what I was indoctrinated with and am committed to stopping the cycle of hate, “in the name of Jesus.”
