Colorado born and raised, the four sisters who make up SHEL tapped into their roots on the Planet Bluegrass stage. With two studio albums released, this supergroup brings a wide breadth of musical talent to their performances, ranging from mandolin to accordion to beat boxing.
Boasting an edgy yet feminine sound, SHEL leaves their fans in awe, harmonizing in a way that only sisters could harmonize. I recently had the pleasure of interviewing the group on The Twist series, where you can go to learn more about the 15-year path that lead them to creating a blend of folk, rock, and classical sounds.
And if you missed them, take a look at the promotional photos I took of the band during a visit to Indianapolis.
